Edson is located on the Yellowhead Highway, 200 km’s west of Edmonton. The Yellowhead Highway is a four-lane highway that crosses Alberta from Lloydminister to Jasper. Jasper is 160 km’s west of Edson. Edson has a population of 9,000 with a trading area of another 16,000.

Edson is the centre for oil and gas activity in the area, plus the focal point for the logging industry that takes place throughout the surrounding region. Edson is also defined as the Slow Pitch Capitol of the World. Slow Pitch Tournaments that attract teams from western Canada and the U.S. happen every weekend during the late spring and summer months.
